A new venture that we have taken on this summer is providing the day of coordination for all events at the McKay Ballroom. In addition to our busy summer schedule with All Buttoned Up weddings, we have loved spending some of our weekends at McKay. We are working with Nicole, The Venue Coordinator, and she has been amazing as we learn all about how to best represent the venue!
Our role at the McKay is definitely different than if we were to be planning a wedding with our couples. Our job at McKay is more of the home stretch planning and execution! Nicole is an amazing resource in helping us get all the details that we need. However, we have really loved our time working at the McKay so far, and we are really figuring out the groove to managing an event from the venue perspective. Overall, the experience we are getting at McKay is making us better planners and coordinators.
As I mentioned in a previous blog post, Korie and myself (McKenzie), work the majority of the weddings at the Ballroom at McKay along with Kelly, Alaina, and Allison when they are available outside of their busy wedding seasons.
