From kindergarten classmates to soulmates, Annie and Zander’s love story came full circle on the shores of Lake Michigan.
They said “I do” on a radiant late-July day, surrounded by their closest family and friends, with the lake stretching endlessly behind them — the perfect setting for a wedding as vibrant and joyful as their story.
From the very beginning, Annie made one thing clear: she wasn’t afraid of color. Inspired by the most vivid moments of a summer sunset, she envisioned a palette bursting with bright pinks, warm oranges, golden yellows, and bold pops of red — and we couldn’t wait to bring it to life.
Floral genius Stephani from Sycamore Floral led the way, designing lush, playful arrangements that were perfectly accented by textured, colorful candles, fresh fruit, and soft oatmeal-toned linens that grounded the look in an organic elegance. The paper goods carried that same joyful energy — bright hues with a custom “wave” motif that appeared across the details card, menus, and signage.
One of our favorite design moments was the custom photo backdrop we created to highlight the couple’s neon yellow sign — a perfect burst of personality, layered with texture and color.
As guests arrived, they were greeted with fringed programs and signage that carried the sunset palette forward. The ceremony took place with Lake Michigan as the dramatic backdrop, and Annie and Zander were framed by twin floral arches — later repurposed to create a dreamy vignette behind their head table.
The reception was a celebration in every sense — from the bright, cheerful linens to the infectious energy of the crowd. This design was full of life, just like Annie and Zander, and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day for two people who’ve truly grown up together — and into each other’s forever.
