This is day 1. You read that right, this is just day 1 of a weekend long festivities for Kate and Mehre. This weekend represented a blending of two families, cultures and love. We were blessed to be the team to bring it all together and it was a marathon of work, sweat, creativity and commitment to make something truly amazing for the perfect couple.

Friday was hosted for their bridal party, parents and close friends at their home and then Saturday took place for 325 guests at Frederik Meijer Gardens. For that many guests, it can be difficult to bring personality, direction and care through everything you do but I have to say, we nailed it. We wanted the design to be slightly modern with a little funk and edge but to have the floral and paper elements be warm and translatable as we repurposed from day 1 to day 2. This day was centered on the couples love of art, floral and music.

We wanted the design to have elements that could cross over and you see the same consistent monogram, font styles, signage formatting in particular throughout. The hint of funk came in through the shapes of the candle vessels and the shapes of the candles throughout, the peel and stick wallpaper we used on boxes, and the wave element on paper goods. There is also color blocking that travels from the ladies dresses/bouquets to the tablescapes that are arranged to "wave" through the color story and paired with their matching candle.
The centerpiece of the room was the cake (epic right?) and the statement dessert table with the chihuly sculpture overhead. We paired funky green velvet linens with a patterned orange and cream for cocktail hour and dancing. We had custom line drawings of our couple and their pets made to really take their bars to the next level and these special touches were really what set it a part from any other wedding.

To top it all off, this was the sweetest couple you will ever meet. They had been together for years after meeting at downtown "bottom forty" night. It was a long time coming and their love and commit to each other while creating an epic evening for their guests was unmatched.
