Wow. The planning of this wedding was one of the best we have ever done. Katie and Zach completely trusted us to bring their vision to life and allowed us the freedom to design and create! We took over Buzz's lakeside Inn, Michilinda Lodge, and the Weathervane Inn for Friday-Monday of Memorial Day Weekend. The first events officially began on Saturday at Buzz's lakeside Inn for the couple's rehearsal and dinner; nautical themed in white/blue with pops of lemons and succulents. We used all copper signage which kept things light and modern along with modern paper goods in navy and white.

Fruit was a consistent theme for the couple and carried throughout. Guests in town were all invited to a welcome party that evening at the Chalet at Michilinda Lodge. The couple wasn't afraid of color and boy did we give them color! Burnt orange, hot pink and floral were brought into the linens along with highlighting their love of kitties in the centerpieces. We sprayed the cats gold and brought in framed lost words in the english language placed in copper geo frames. We lucked out and had beautiful weather all weekend long.

On wedding day Katie and Zach had a vision for overlooking Lake Michigan and did a intimate curved chair set up for the ceremony for 200 guests. As guests arrived via trolley they were  treated to champagne with dried flowers and fruit and witnessed an intimate ceremony officiated by the groom's father. Then guests traveled to the reception at Buzz's and the prettiest sailcloth tent I have ever designed. It was right on the Lake and featured tons of texture, amazing floral and blueberries at each table. Katie's family has a tradition with English poppers which I brought into their centerpieces. Inside the poppers were filled with paper crowns and temporary tattoos of the couples cats. The poppers continued in the flag shape we used for table numbers and signage and doubled as their place cards. The Jerry Ross Band and fireworks really made for a spectacular evening that we were all proud of.

The weekend wrapped up with a Monday Brunch that was Red, White and Blue. Our fruit centerpieces spray painted pineapples and oversized balloons in the Chalet. We had done a draping install that Friday and kept it up all weekend. BarFly Catering did the food and were nothing short of amazing. We wish Katie + Zach all the happiness in the world!
