Katie and Sandro were a couple that we got to work with for a while, over two years. Their long engagement gave us a chance to really connect with the couple and get to know their style. Katie was in the process of finishing school, and they were moving to Colorado in the middle of the planning process. We were able to take the time booking vendors to find the perfect fit for Katie and Sandro.
The ceremony was at Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, and they could not have asked for a more beautiful day in August. With the ceremony package, all of their guests were granted admission to the park and could explore the grounds prior to and after the ceremony until the reception began over at The Bissell Tree House at John Ball Zoo.
The Bissell Tree House is a gorgeous, unique venue in Grand Rapids with an overlooking view of downtown. Hidden up in the trees, the reception venue has a great indoor and outdoor area for guests. Renting gold chivari chairs really elevated the space, giving it a more elegant feel.
We loved that Katie and Sandro were not afraid of color whatsoever. Their color palette was refreshing with bright floral and rich greens, and the floral print linens were a unique element that brought the venue to life. An underlying theme for the entire wedding were the geometric terrariums used in the centerpieces at the reception and even to house their wedding rings for a gorgeous photo. The invitations carried this theme as well with a gold geometric border and a bright watercolor splash along with other paper products used for the ceremony and reception.
