Lauren and Kevin, who are both doctors, have busy schedules and busy lives, so they hired us for full-service wedding planning, and it was such a pleasure to bring their vision to life and make their wedding planning experience enjoyable and stress free. A year prior, Lauren's good friend Marissa had hired us for her wedding, and we love that our past couples are so confident in referring us to friends!
Lauren and Kevin's reception was one of the first wedding/events to use the lawn space outside the main reception room at Watermark Country Club. There are not many outdoor spaces near downtown Grand Rapids that can accommodate 250 guests, so we created our own! It was important to Lauren to be close to downtown because the ceremony was downtown at the Basilica of Saint Adalbert, and she had a lot of out of town guests and wanted it to be convenient for them.
For the design, they chose to keep decorations and floral simple at the church because it is already so beautiful on its own. Some simple greenery lining the railings outside the church was the perfect touch. And we couldn't possibly obstruct the amazing view so we went with low centerpieces that were airy and garden-like and mixed in succulents. Lauren's Mom, Beth, actually planted all of the mini succulents. We did the custom design for all of her paper products and place cards. They were displayed on a soft seating buffet. We incorporated a clear top tent off the main reception tent for dancing under the stars. Lauren and Kevin, along with their guests, were able to enjoy the beautiful summer evening dancing to the amazing Endless Summer Band
